Mitton calls for comprehensive review of ‘huge’ and ‘complex’ gas plant project

On today’s show, we talk with Tantramar MLA Megan Mitton about her call for a comprehensive provincial environmental impact assessment of a proposed natural gas power plant in rural Tantramar. “This is a huge project,” says Mitton, “and it needs to be taken seriously.” Mitton says a comprehensive EIA would involve more robust public consultation on the project.

  • The town of Amherst has received federal funding for a mobile outreach program, complete with a mobile response vehicle and full-time staffing, which will deliver intervention services, provide access to harm reduction supplies, and connect people with mental health, addiction, and housing supports.
