Part II of II of CHMA’s coverage on the search for Sackville’s long-buried Boultenhouse shipyard. In Part One, we introduced the Tantramar Heritage Trust’s cautious first steps – resistivity scans, test pits, and the excitement of Mount Allison student Flynn Cleary. In this follow-up, historian Paul Bogaard and collections assistant Sarah Adsett provide the commentary and information that guide us through the shipyard’s legacy. the shift from shipbuilding to foundries and quarries, and what traces in the marsh may yet reveal. Together, the two stories trace how a booming port town turned inland – and how archaeology may soon reconnect it with its past. Read Part One here
