Celia and Richard Brûlé have been building their Halloween collection and traditions for well over a decade. They moved to Port Elgin with their daughter, Briar Rose and their six cats in December. Richard works as a doctor in the Port Elgin clinic.

Celia and Richard first met in 2011, and things really took off the following year after visiting Spirit Halloween and Halloween Alley in Moncton. Celia was always a big fan of the holiday and used to throw Halloween parties and decorate for her neighbours while growing up in Mactaquac.
Year after year, the display kept growing, and soon they felt they were ready to invite the community. Last year at their home in Huntsville, Ontario, they fundraised for a local soup kitchen, and this year they’re collecting donations for PEDVAC Food Bank in Port Elgin.
Donations welcome: non-perishable items or cash. Red tote bin: located in the Christmas section of the display. The Brûlés stress that there is no pressure to donate. Celia has fond memories of PEDVAC from her family visits here, so it’s extra meaningful for them to give back in this way.
The experience is free for all, for a drive-by or walk-through. The daily hours of the display and walk-through path are: 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm (weather permitting), with lights possibly staying on until 10:00 pm on Halloween night only.
Some important notes for those visiting: Please don’t touch anything, and nothing will touch you. Please watch your children closely, as it is a residential area. Treats are in the pumpkin area on the front porch (so littler ones can skip the scarier stuff!) If you’re able-bodied, it is suggested that visitors park in the town lot and walk across the slab bridge for safety and crowd control.
