SUMMARY:Struts Gallery L'Ambiance Sappyfest
DESCRIPTION:From Friday July 31st to Sunday August 2nd at 12-7pm\, Struts Gallery is happy to present L’Ambiance\, a series of artist projects running contemporaneous to everyone’s favorite music festival\, Sappyfest. L’Ambiance includes work by artists Teagan and Jacob and Annie France Noël.  \n\n\n\nTeagan and Jacob will be presenting Porta-Confessional\, a participatory\, ephemeral sculptural installation which takes the form of a confessional\, constructed as twinned (non-functioning\, replica) Porta-Potties. Within this playful\, secularized confessional\, Sappyfest attendees of all ages are invited into a moment of contemplative reprieve. \n\n\n\nAnnie France Noël will create a hybrid space where installation\, performance\, and encounters with the public co-exist in relation to her work with sheep’s wool and its various stages of transformation (from raw fleece to weavable thread). \n\n\n\nFor more information\, check the Struts website at https://www.strutsgallery.ca!

DESCRIPTION:A GORGON’S TALE opens at Sappyfest on August 2nd at 4pm. Join us in the green space off Rectory Lane for a outside showing. \n\n\n\nThis original puppet spectacle tells the story of a mythical being who brings new growth and change to a world in ruin. While the show borrows its structure from the myth of Perseus and Medusa\, this playful and poetic performance celebrates the antihero\, offering audiences a story of hope in the face of a shadowy future. \n\n\n\nFeaturing music by jazz pianist Behrooz Mihankhah and puppetry by Laura Stinson and Bianca Richard.
