DESCRIPTION:Please join for a volunteer tree planting event at Beech Hill Park to celebrate National Forest Week. \n\n\n\nThey will work together to plant 250 trees and 100 shrubs; including placing mulch around each tree and installing tree guards to protect them from animals. \n\n\n\nThe event will take place on Saturday\, September 26\, 2026. Registration and refreshments will start at 9:30am. The tree planting itself will run from 10am-12pm. \n\n\n\nThey will have shovels and gloves available\, but you are welcome to bring your own if you would prefer. Please wear closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals). Dress according to the weather as the event will go rain or shine. Bring your own water bottle. DESCRIPTION:The Amlamgog 4th Annual Youth Mawiomi is taking place on September 26th at the Dorchester School. Grand Entry starts at 12pm with everyone welcome to attend. \n\n\n\nThis fantastic yearly event encourages Indigenous youth to embrace their cultures and to show everyone their dancing skills. The Mawiomi has a mixture of dances for the competitors as well as dances for the public to participate in as well. There will be many Indigenous vendors on site as well with plenty of goods to be purchased. \n\n\n\nEVENT ON FRIDAY\, SEPT 25 \n\n\n\nFriday\, September 25th will have the Friday Night Social at the Dorchester Veterans Community Centre (4955 Main St.\, Dorchester). DESCRIPTION:Get ready to roll up your sleeves and make your mark — literally! In this hands-on workshop\, you’ll create your own original design or choose from a selection of fun\, simple shapes. From there\, you’ll learn how to transfer your image onto a rubber block\, carve it out\, and print it onto paper. \n\n\n\nAll skill levels are invited and the workshop is designed for ages 10 and up. This workshop takes place on the first Saturday of every month\, with the first workshop being June 6th. They take place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 131 B Main Street\, Sackville. Spaces are limited to 6 participants and registration is $80 per person. Interested individuals / groups are asked to submit a written request to the Clerk’s Office no later than 7 calendar days prior to the meeting date in order to be confirmed for a five (5) minute presentation at an upcoming agenda subject to availability. Tantramar will make every effort possible to accommodate requests in a timely manner. \n\n\n\nMembers of the Public wishing to address Council with no previous registration may register with the Clerk’s Office prior to the agenda approval of a Regular Council Meeting for a two (2) minute presentation.
