Mount Allison, NBCC sign agreement for business degree pathway program

Mount Allison University and New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) have signed a new agreement that will create a more direct pathway for NBCC business administration accounting diploma graduates to achieve a bachelor of commerce from Mount Allison.

The five-year agreement allows eligible students who have completed NBCC’s two-year business administration accounting program to transfer into Mount Allison’s bachelor of commerce degree program with up to 60 transfer credits. Under the agreement, students would be able to complete their bachelor of commerce degree at Mount Allison in two years, or four academic terms, of full-time study.

The agreement is part of a broader Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions to create practical, student-centred pathways that recognize previous learning, reduce administrative complexity, and help students better plan their post-secondary journeys.

“This agreement reflects Mount Allison’s commitment to supporting students at different stages of their education and creating more flexible pathways into our academic programs,” says Mount Allison’s vice president of academic and research Richard Isnor. “NBCC students bring strong applied learning, professional preparation, and valuable experience.”

“Partnerships between postsecondary institutions like NBCC and Mount Allison are essential in supporting student mobility and expanding opportunities for learners,” says NBCC’s vice president of academic, innovation and student affairs Ann Drennan.
