The mayor of Campbellton, New Brunswick, has died at age 75.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Campbellton Regional Community announced in a Facebook post that Michel Soucy died at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It says Soucy was elected mayor during the community\u2019s most recent municipal elections in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soucy was also the former mayor of Atholville, New Brunswick, a community just west of Campbellton. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demolition of a nearly century-old arena in Halifax has been put on pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Halifax Regional Municipality says it made the decision to pause the Halifax Forum replacement project because projected costs increased beyond what the regional council approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mayor\u2019s office says the redevelopment was going to cost more than the expected 126-million dollars but did not say what the new projected cost would be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 63-year-old man is facing several charges after a domestic disturbance in St. John\u2019s on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Provincial police officers received a call about a disturbance in the city\u2019s west end at 11:50 a-m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers arrested a man and charged him with violence against an intimate partner and mischief causing property damage. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Right-Whales)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Researchers say that critically endangered North Atlantic right whales are feeding closer to the ocean\u2019s surface at night, increasing their risk of being struck by boats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A recent study out of Dalhousie University in Halifax documented nighttime surface feeding by North Atlantic right whales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The paper\u2019s lead author, Jay Kirkham, says the research team tagged 23 right whales in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and the data revealed that whales feed at the same depth as large vessels at night, increasing the risk of collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says vessel collisions are one of the leading causes of death in the dwindling population, and the findings can be used to develop measures to prevent such collisions from happening. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police in St. John\u2019s have charged a man after a business was damaged in the city\u2019s west end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers arrested a 27-year-old man after receiving a call about a disturbance at a business at 6:40 a-m Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man faces charges of breaching a probation order, causing a disturbance and property damage. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(PEI-Food-Truck-Vandalism)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The owners of a Charlottetown food truck say their business has been the target of multiple cases of vandalism in recent weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the co-owners of Shawarma Time says the business had to close for a few days after the line to its propane tank was cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The co-owner says earlier the truck\u2019s power cords were also stolen and the replacement wires were cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
