The first vaccination clinic at the Tantramar Civic Centre happened this past Saturday, with about 400 people getting vaccinated. The original opening date of April 7 had to be pushed forward because too few appointments were booked. Health department spokesperson Shawn Berry says that was likely because of the brief registration period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second clinic is scheduled to happen on Wednesday, April 14. Anyone aged 70 or over is eligible for a vaccination at the Vitalit\u00e9 clinics in Sackville. (Scroll down for the complete list of eligibilities.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CORNER DRUG STORE CONTINUES ROLLOUT TO ANYONE 55 OR OLDER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vaccinations continued over the weekend at the Corner Drug Store, where the eligibility for booking is anyone 55 and older. That\u2019s because Corner Drug has doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine available<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pharmacist-owner Charles Beaver has hired extra staff to help with the vaccination rollout at the pharmacy, which received 620 shots to administer last week. Beaver says there are still some appointments available this week. He’s asking people to register online at the thecornerdrugstore.ca<\/a>, to help keep Corner Drug phones lines from being overwhelmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far in New Brunswick, just over 17% of the population (135,815 people) has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past week, 27,000 people received their first dose. That\u2019s down from 33,000 the previous week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Brunswick\u2019s supply of COVID-19 vaccines seems healthy. In the past week the province received another 64,000 doses. As of Sunday there are about 60,000 doses in the province, waiting to be administered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
