The closed crossing will mean a detour of up to 50 kilometres for residents of Westcock, British Settlement, Wood Point and beyond.  It will also mean the school buses will not be able to bring children into Sackville schools from those communities on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Resident Patti Steele posted a picture of the sign on social media, and concerns poured in from residents whose daily travel will be affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/CN-crossing-closure.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" sizes=\"(max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/CN-crossing-closure.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17645\" width=\"-21\" height=\"-28\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/CN-crossing-closure.jpg 526w, https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/CN-crossing-closure-225x300.jpg 225w\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Photo: Patti Steele<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CN spokesperson Mathieu Gaudreault says the company is rehabilitating the crossing, \u201cincluding the crossing surface.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gaudreault also said the company was in contact with the town of Sackville and local emergency services, \u201cto ensure that the impacted citizens and services can plan accordingly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sackville fire chief Craig Bowser says that the department has, &#8220;made arrangements to have a fire truck placed on the Westcock side of the tracks to respond as required for fire services.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marshview principal Heather Dixon emailed families on Wednesday afternoon to let them know that school buses 203 and 205 will be unable to transport students from the British Settlement\/Westcock area on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A New Brunswick CN worker said by phone that the railway has received many complaints about the crossing surface.
