Bridge Street closure next week for demolition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The demolition of a building that was damaged by fire last September will cause several days of road closure on Bridge Street near the intersection with Main.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 Bridge Street, the location of the former Nabi Sushi, is being torn down starting Monday or Tuesday, weather depending.  Day one (likely Monday) will see vehicle traffic detoured to Allison Avenue, and day two (likely Tuesday) will see pedestrian access to Main Street from Bridge also closed.  The closure extends to day three, but the road could be open that day if demolition work is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Willow Lane will also be closed to accommodate heavy vehicles trucking away construction debris, so that means pedestrians will be detoured to the Independent parking lot for access to Main Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A map of the closure posted by the town of Sackville shows the closed area beginning just past Song\u2019s Chopsticks. Business blocked off will be Fener\u2019s Place and Ducky\u2019s, as well as Meraki Body Lounge across the street.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

COVID update: three more deaths, first kids vaxx clinic in Sackville Sunday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first Sackville clinic for kids vaccines takes place this Sunday, December 5 at the Sackville Visitor Information Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past week, New Brunswick administered just over 5000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, a number that has been on steady decline throughout the fall, as more and more people are vaccinated.  Just under 3800 people got their second dose in the past week, while just over 1200 got their first dose.  That number could jump in the weeks ahead as the rollout for kids vaccines ramps up across the province.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three more people have died as a result of COVID-19 in New Brunswick. Two people in Zone 1, one in their 70s and on in their 80s, passed away, as well as someone in their 80s in the Saint John region.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The province announced 93 new cases of the disease on Wednesday, with 24 of those in Zone 1.  There are now 219 active cases in Zone 1, and 676 province-wide.  67 people are in hospital, including two people under 19 years of age. Fifteen people are in intensive care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mount Allison Chamber Orchestra<\/strong> performs tonight at the Brunton Auditorium, directed by Prof. Mark Kleyn.  The listing says the performance \u201cexplores the wonderful world of string orchestra repertoire, from vibrant classics and sonorous romanticism to exciting contemporary works.\u201d The concert starts at 7:30pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
