Image: Google Streetview Nov 2021<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man who hit and seriously injured a young Mount Allison student crossing Main Street in a crosswalk last December has pled guilty to a charge of driving without due care and attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrew McGann appeared in Moncton provincial court on July 4 to plead guilty to the charge, and will be required to pay a fine of $1200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The young man McGann hit was sent to a Halifax hospital in critical condition after the collision. RCMP Sergeant Eric Hanson told CHMA the young man has since been released from hospital and continues his recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crown prosecutors dropped a second charge against McGann of failing to yield. Prosecutor Annie St-Jacques says it\u2019s not uncommon in the case of a guilty plea on one Motor Vehicle Act charge to see a related charge withdrawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The collision occurred at the crosswalk on Main Street at King.
