Police in Nova Scotia are asking the public’s help in finding a 20-year-old man wanted on a provincewide arrest warrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say Kyle Gordon Joseph Buffett is wanted on a raft of charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police describe him as five-foot-three, weighing about 170 pounds with dark brown hair and brown eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say Buffett is known to frequent the areas of West Hants Kings and Annapolis counties and is believed to be driving a grey 2020 Hyundai Kona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Brunswick government says farmers in the beef sector need support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has announced a pilot program that will let producers in the province and Prince Edward Island buy insurance to protect the price of beef cattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That’s in the event of unexpected market declines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An R-C-M-P corporal in New Brunswick who was charged with a sex crime involving a minor has been suspended with pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeremy Bastarache is accused of trying to solicit a person he believed to be under 16 years old for a sexual offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police force has referred the case to the Serious Incident Response Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The R-C-M-P notes these types of investigations are challenging for victims, the community as well as for other officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NL-Pedestrian-Hit)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police in Newfoundland are looking for the driver of a pick-up truck who hit a woman and her dog on Tuesday and then drove away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the woman and her pet were hit in the west end of St. John\u2019s just before 7:45 p-m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The force says the truck is a grey, older-model four-door pick-up with a company logo on the driver\u2019s side panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say the woman was treated briefly in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new centre for addictions care is opening in downtown Halifax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nova Scotia Addictions and Mental Health Minister Brian Comer says the new recovery support centre is aimed at helping people living with substance abuse and gambling disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Services at the centre, located on Fenwick Street, will include in-person assessments, group programming and harm reduction support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’ll be staffed with a doctor, registered nurses and social workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main downtown street in Newfoundland and Labrador\u2019s capital city will be closed to vehicles this summer from June 20th to September 2nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The St. John\u2019s pedestrian mall began in 2020 as a way to promote being outdoors and social distancing during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s now a downtown summer staple, where restaurants build outdoor decks in the street that fill up with sun-baking patrons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The city says this year\u2019s pedestrian mall will feature a market on every second Thursday with local vendors, artists and food trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
