Three students have been charged with trespassing after police in Newfoundland and Labrador dismantled pro-Palestinian encampment at Memorial University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A news release says Memorial University had asked demonstrators leave the premises, hoping they would do so voluntarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It says the students are scheduled to attend court at a future date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In May about 50 people held a 76-minute \u201cdie-in\u201d demonstration against what organizers say is Israel\u2019s 76-year occupation of Palestinian territory, and a protester read names of Palestinians killed in the war. (The Canadian Press) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-C-M-P in Halifax are investigating a vehicle crash that resulted in injuries after an attempted traffic stop, and is referring the incident to the Nova Scotia police watchdog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say around 3:30 a-m Saturday officers attempted a traffic stop on a suspected impaired driver who would not stop, and the officer turned off his sirens, lights and did not pursue the truck. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moments later the red G-M-C pickup truck failed to negotiate an exit merge, leaving the road and landing on its roof in the centre of a traffic circle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two people fled the flipped truck, including a 33-year-old man who was arrested later that morning and a youth, and one woman was stuck in the flipped truck and needed to extracted. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Jet-Ski-Fatality)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Brunswick R-C-M-P say a 53-year-old man has died following a collision between a Jet Ski and a recreational boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say officers were called to Tracadie River in Petit-Tracadie just before 1 a-m Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say the Jet Ski driver died at the scene as a result of his injuries while three people on the boat were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say the boat driver \u2014 who was initially missing \u2014 was later found on shore and taken to the hospital with injuries. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Firearms) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
R-C-M-P in Nova Scotia have arrested a 34-year-old man in relation to a firearms investigation in Sipekne’katik (SAH’-bay-gah-nah-gah-dee).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say the arrest was made Friday after a search warrant at a home that was executed as part of a firearms investigation involving the East Hants, Colchester Country, Cumberland Country and Sipekne’katik (SAH’-bay-gah-nah-gah-dee) R-C-M-P departments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers seized seven firearms \u2014 including two prohibited firearms \u2014 as well as magazines, ammunition, contraband tobacco and edible psilocybin, known as magic mushrooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 34-year-old who has not been named by police has been released from custody pending a future court appearance. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Dog-Owner-Concerns)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some dog owners in New Brunswick say new requirements for travellers bringing their pup across the United States border are causing challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
New requirements that are effective August 1st mean that pet dogs travelling to the States must have an implanted microchip, be over six months old, and owners must complete paperwork before crossing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are in addition to existing rules, which require that the dog is visibly healthy and has documentation of rabies vaccination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don Flatt, who often travels with his terrier named Bobby, says the new rules will mean that he will have to leave his furry friend behind on an upcoming trip because his dog is not microchipped. (CBC News)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NL-Assault-Arrest)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 41-year-old Newfoundland man has been arrested after police were called to a possible assault at a home in Conception Bay South. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called to the home Saturday evening, and the man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
