New Brunswick’s Green Party has released its platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Green Leader David Coon said yesterday the platform focuses on the crisis in healthcare, housing, the cost of living, and climate change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says the cornerstone of the Green Party platform is to make a large investment in healthcare to address recruitment and retention, and to ensure that every New Brunswicker has a family healthcare team in their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coon says his party’s platform commits to concrete practical solutions to the multiple challenges facing people in New Brunswick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post-secondary students will have the option to vote on campus for New Brunswick’s upcoming provincial election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The campus outreach program was dropped in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions that saw most students taking courses online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elections New Brunswick says voting stations will be open October 15th to 18th at more than a dozen post-secondary institutions across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program also includes a marketing campaign targeting younger voters, and funding to student councils to hire students as election ambassadors. (The Canadian Press)

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston says police are investigating the theft of an undisclosed amount of money from his riding association\u2019s bank account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Houston said yesterday that he learned money had gone missing from the Pictou East Progressive Conservative riding association on Monday and immediately reported the incident to police in New Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A spokesman for the New Glasgow Regional Police would not discuss any details about the case on Wednesday but confirmed that police received a report of fraud on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The premier says he didn\u2019t know exactly how much money was taken, but he added that the amount is probably in the thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

P-E-I Premier Dennis King is shuffling his cabinet after one of his ministers announced she’s leaving her position to seek the nomination for the federal Conservatives in the next federal election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rob Lantz will take over for Natalie Jameson as education minister, while Jenn Redmond will step into Jameson’s role as minister responsible for the Status of Women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
King also announced Steven Myers will take over the housing portfolio and Cory Deagle is now Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police in Newfoundland and Labrador are warning residents about an extortion scam where perpetrators say the victim has visited explicit websites and they threaten to send videos to the victim\u2019s contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the perpetrators send emails with the victim\u2019s full name, number and address, as well as a screenshot of their house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The email says the victim has visited explicit sites and threatens to send videos from the sites to everyone in the victim\u2019s contact list — unless the victim sends cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police are reminding residents to ensure their social media profiles are set to the highest privacy levels and to never send money under pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Teen-Stabbing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 14-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter in the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy near a Halifax mall earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A spokeswoman for the provincial Public Prosecution Service confirms the girl appeared in Halifax Youth Court on Monday, when she also pleaded guilty to a charge of violating the release conditions of her bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Melissa Foshay says the Crown is no longer seeking an adult sentence for the girl, who was initially charged with second-degree murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two boys now aged 17 and another boy who is 15 were also charged with second-degree murder in the case, where a victim was found badly injured in April in a parking lot — and died later in hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
