Hockey star Sidney Crosby is wishing good luck to fellow Nova Scotian hockey captain Blayre Turnbull as she begins the second season of the Professional Women’s Hockey League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Turnbull is the captain of the Toronto Sceptres, who open their season at the end of the month when they host the Boston Fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a photo posted to Instagram, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain is holding up a Sceptres sweater with a caption reading, “Good luck in season two.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Brunswick Museum in Saint John is getting 107-thousand dollars from the federal government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local M-P Wayne Long made the announcement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investment from Ottawa will see new hires enhance the museum’s website in a bid to attract more visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As well, the money will be used to digitize collections, create educational materials improve the museum’s new website for smartphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-C-M-P say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a car yesterday in Balmoral, New Brunswick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mounties say the 74-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say h was trying to cross the street at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Drug-Trafficking-Charges)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police in southern New Brunswick say one man has been arrested and 63-thousand-dollars worth of drugs have been seized following a drug trafficking investigation in Fredericton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers say a 44-year-old man from the city’s north side was arrested on October 31st and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamines were among the drugs seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man is scheduled to appear in court later this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the leaders of the three main political parties spent much of today preparing for a televised debate — scheduled for 6 p-m local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 29-year-old man in Nova Scotia is facing 20 charges following a break-in on Monday night in Cape Breton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
R-C-M-P say officers were dispatched to a home in Wagmatcook, where two suspects were arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mounties allege that one of the suspects — a man from the area — had a firearm and cocaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is facing five counts of breach of probation, break and enter with intent and possession of dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
