In Mary Scobie’s most recent show, Mel’s Revisited, the painter takes us down memory lane to the heyday of the beloved former diner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born and raised in Sackville, Mary fondly remembers popping into Mel’s to buy Seventeen Magazine. When she later attended Mount Allison, she would meet friends there to socialize. Mary started documenting Mel’s long ago, \u201cEvery time I came back to visit my parents, I\u2019d take different pictures of Mel\u2019s. I was just attracted to the sign and the front. And, I\u2019d take them in different lights and different times a day. I even remembered one time asking them at night to turn the neon sign on so I could take some nighttime shots, which is one of the ones I used for for the show.\u201d
