On April 17th, police were called to a home where officers allege a man shot at a homeowner multiple times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say everyone involved was co-operative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent and uttering threats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new study says D-D-T sprayed in New Brunswick forests persists in trout at alarming levels more than 50 years after it was last used in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Josh Kurek, associate professor in Mount Allison University’s department of geography and environment, says D-D-T was sprayed over more than half of the province’s forests between 1952 and 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the study, researchers analyzed fish, invertebrates, and sediment in seven lakes, alongside publicly available data on the amount of D-D-T that had been sprayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kurek says the study concludes that brook trout found in five study lakes measured about 10 times above levels that the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment considers as sort of safe levels for D-D-T for wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 31-year-old man was arrested by New Brunswick R-C-M-P following the death of a 26-year-old woman<\/p>\n\n\n\n
R-C-M-P say the woman was reported missing on April 15th and her body was found two days later in Maces Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say a 31-year-old man who was already in custody was charged yesterday with manslaughter, and indignity to a dead body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is scheduled to return to court on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NL-Fire-Season-Begins)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Newfoundland and Labrador government is warning island residents that fire season is starting earlier than usual because of dry conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government says that as of April 24th, the fire season will open Newfoundland, while Labrador will enter fire season on May 15th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture Department says anyone planning an outdoor fire should first check the daily forest fire hazard map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is looking for a missing man, calling on residents to report any sightings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say the man from Mount Pearl was last heard from on April 15th after leaving his home amid a family fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say he could be in the Bay Roberts area with his dog Izzy, an older grey-and-white sheepdog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family has concerns about his well-being and say he could be driving a white Honda Odyssey minivan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(PEI-Forever-Chemicals)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The P-E-I government is warning nine homeowners in Hazelbrook that their well water contains unsafe levels of “forever chemicals.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government says a class of chemicals known as P-F-A-S are widely used in everyday products, such as firefighting foam, furniture and construction materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Current Health Canada benchmarks say a maximum of 30 nanograms per litre for the chemicals can be present in water, but two wells tested showed over 700 nanograms per litre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The P-E-I drinking water dashboard says multiple areas across the province have higher than safe levels of P-F-A-S in their water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
