Police in New Brunswick say they are investigating an alleged assault and use of an imitation firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say officers were called to Elsipogtog First Nation on May 27th after reports that a woman had allegedly been assaulted by a man in a home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say they arrested a 25-year-old man and a search warrant of the house allegedly yielded an air pistol, two magazines, air canisters and pellets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man appeared in Moncton provincial court and was charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats, assault, assault with a weapon, and assault by choking, and is scheduled for a bail hearing Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A provincial legislative committee is scheduled to meet today to discuss the recent Nova Scotia Power cybersecurity breach that allowed thieves access to data from 280-thousand customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The privately owned utility\u2019s C-E-O and other senior staff with Nova Scotia Power were called as witnesses to the standing committee on public accounts, which is set to meet this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The breach of the customer records was first reported in late April, and the company later indicated the first breach was detected in mid March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gregg said the social insurance numbers of up to 140-thousand customers had been collected by the utility, and therefore could have been accessed in the breach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Piping-Plover-Protection)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A judge has ordered a rethink of a preservation plan for the endangered piping plovers on the East Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a decision released Monday, Justice Richard Southcott sent the piping plover recovery plan back to the federal environment minister for “reconsideration.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The judge wrote that federal lawyers had failed to provide a clear response to the concerns raised by Nature Nova Scotia and the East Coast Environmental Law Association about the plan approved by the minister in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Piping plovers are small shorebirds that nest primarily on sand, gravel or cobblestone beaches with only between 170 to 190 nesting pairs left, well below the 2022 plan’s goal of 310 pairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It says the leadership convention’s new location is Bluefield High School in North Wiltshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Wind-Farm-Traffic)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The transport of several huge wind turbine blades will be affecting traffic in eastern P-E-I in coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The blades for the Eastern Kings Wind Farm Project have been offloaded in Georgetown, and beginning today, they will be transported from there about 70 kilometres to Eastern Kings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the next week there will be morning and afternoon transport of blades and disruptions are expected at the Pooles Corner roundabout as loads turn onto Route 4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roadside message boards will be present along the route letting motorists know when they may encounter the oversized loads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Child-Sex-Assault)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
R-C-M-P have charged a man with sexual offences against a child in central Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators say on Monday afternoon two children were riding their bicycles when a man standing in a driveway in Admiral Rock, about 40 kilometres south of Truro, flagged them down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police alleged the man grabbed one of the children by the arm, entered the nearby residence with the child, exposed himself, and uttered threats before the child ran away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers went to the home and arrested a 34-year-old man from Admiral Rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
