Police in southern New Brunswick are searching for three suspects after someone distracted a senior in a parking lot, allowing an accomplice to steal the woman’s wallet from her vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saint John Police Force says the robbery happened on the afternoon of June 2nd outside a business on Lansdowne Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say a female suspect approached the victim and asked for directions while one of two male suspects entered the victim’s vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police force has released photos clearly showing each suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Mi’kmaq-Fishing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Mi\u2019kmaq band that claimed in a lawsuit that Ottawa\u2019s lobster fishing rules didn\u2019t apply to it has quietly dropped its case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last December, the lawyer for Sipekne’katik First Nation told the Nova Scotia Supreme Court the matter was of historic importance and the band was “moving to a conclusion\u201d to make a deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But as a deadline of June 16th crept up, the band lawyer sent a letter dropping the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Band members had argued their fishery outside of the regular season is permitted by the Marshall decision, but commercial fishers have contended it threatens stocks and ignores that the courts also maintained Ottawa\u2019s right to regulate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Assault-Trail)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
R-C-M-P in Nova Scotia are asking the public for help identifying a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a youth in the village of Canning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say the alleged assault occurred around 3:30 p-m Friday on a walking trail between the Northeast Kings Education Centre high school and the Glooscap District Arena in the Annapolis Valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mounties say the suspect physically assaulted and then sexually assaulted the youth who was walking from school to the arena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
R-C-M-P describe the suspect as being about five-foot-five with a heavy build, and say he was wearing a red shirt, as well as a ski mask and gloves, at the time of alleged assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston is welcoming Prime Minister Mark Carney’s decision to meet NATO’s defence spending target this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For years, Canada has faced criticism from some of its allies for failing to increase its defence spending to reach two per cent of G-D-P.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carney announced yesterday that Ottawa will be spending an extra nine-billion dollars this year to meet that target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Houston says Nova Scotia is ready to help by creating good-paying jobs in manufacturing, technology and development of its critical minerals and raw materials industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police in northeastern Newfoundland are looking for a man who used a small S-U-V to crash through the front doors of a grocery store and steal the bank machine inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mounties in New-Wes-Valley say the A-T-M was stolen from the Roadside Grocery and Hardware in Wareham on Sunday around 4 a-m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect is described as a male who was wearing a face mask and dark-colored clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say he was driving a grey or silver Honda C-R-V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
