Officials in Newfoundland and Labrador say the largest wildfire burning in the province may have destroyed up to 100 homes and structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Premier John Hogan says it is still too smoky and dangerous for crews to get an accurate tally of the destruction in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says the fire has grown to more than 80 square kilometres, and has reached the community of Northern Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kingston-area fire erupted on August 3rd and has driven more than three-thousand people from their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials say a wildfire in southeastern New Brunswick is contained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The blaze in Irishton, north of Moncton, is less than half a square kilometre in size and threatened at least 900 structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The evacuation advisory has also been lifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The downgrading of the Irishtown blaze left a fire burning near Miramichi as the only out-of-control fire in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a 20-year-old man for setting a series of brush fires in downtown St. John\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The force says officers responded to a number of brush fires within a few blocks on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nobody was injured and no structures were damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man is scheduled to appear in court today to face charges of arson with disregard of human life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-C-M-P in Nova Scotia say a woman has been charged with drug-related offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say they executed a search warrant at a home in Windsor and arrested several individuals at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers seized a quantity of cocaine and money from the residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 23-year-old woman is facing charges related to possession for the purpose of trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Air-Canada-Flight-Attendants)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Urban Chambers of Commerce of New Brunswick \u2014 representing Fredericton, Greater Moncton, and the Saint John Region \u2014 is calling for a deal between Air Canada and the union representing flight attendants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It says the chambers are alarmed by the potential impact on New Brunswick\u2019s regional connectivity and economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
