The New Brunswick government has announced an expansion to the subsidized breakfast program \u2014 now ensuring all schools in the province offer a morning meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Premier Susan Holt says the breakfast program is expanding to all 296 schools, with as much local food on the table as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She says that includes apples, cheese and bread from New Brunswick sources \u2014 or from across Canada if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Curbside-Recycling)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City of Fredericton is extending curbside recycling to residents living in multi-unit residential buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new service is part of a gradual phase-out of recycling depots to support the city\u2019s goal of reducing emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NL-Gender-Violence-Funding)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Newfoundland and Labrador is set to fund prevention programs targeting the root causes of gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Office of Women and Gender Equality announced today it’s earmarking 828-thousand dollars for 19 projects through the Province\u2019s Community Violence Prevention Grants Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It includes support for individuals who are underserved and at high risk, such as Indigenous women, girls, L-G-B-T-Q-plus, and women living in rural and remote communities. (The Canadian Press)

Drop-in health clinics are making their rounds in Nova Scotia, coming to multiple communities throughout the month to provide accessible care to residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nova Scotia Health says mobile primary care clinics will be set up in Bridgewater, Chester, Lunenburg, North Queens and Yarmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The health authority says anyone seeking help at the clinics should bring their health card and a list of the medications they are taking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Excavation-Infirmary-Complete)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Construction work on the QEII Halifax Infirmary acute care tower has reached a new milestone, with the Nova Scotia government celebrating the completion of the excavation phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The province says crews have been working at the site since May 2024, digging out 543-thousand tonnes of earth and rock as the site’s progress continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government says structures were also demolished and removed from the area, such as a former parkade near the main entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now that the excavation phase is done, the work is expected to shift toward putting the foundation in place and starting the mechanical and electrical parts of the project. (The Canadian Press)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A man is facing multiple charges for possession of drugs and a weapon in Charlottetown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say the accused was arrested at a provincial courthouse in mid-August after attending a trial tied to charges for a separate incident in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 37-year-old is facing additional charges after a search of his home during which cash, two drones, multiple cellphones, and other drug-related paraphernalia were seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
