It says the first session is in Moncton today followed by two in Saint John tomorrow and one in Fredericton on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government says there are engagements also being planned for Miramichi, Caraquet, Bathurst and Edmundston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Premier Susan Holt had ordered an independent audit of the utility following customer outrage over recent power bills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police are investigating a sudden death at a residence in downtown Fredericton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators say a 42-year-old female was located at the scene along with an adult male, who was transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The New Brunswick Coroner\u2019s Office is probing both the cause and circumstances of the death. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 30 firms from Atlantic Canada\u2019s defence sector are in London this week to take part in one of the world\u2019s largest defence industry events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Led by the Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association, the delegation is among the largest in the Canadian pavilion at the Defence and Security Equipment International 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The firms are showcasing capabilities to international defence contractors and looking to build new partnerships and expand export opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior officials in Nova Scotia are defending the government’s tendering of contracts without a competitive bidding process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The comments on the so-called alternative procurement for goods and services happened before a legislative committee today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Service Nova Scotia deputy minister Joanne Munro says alternative procurement is a legitimate and necessary tool used by governments across Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Munro says alternative procurement methods, such as sole-source contracts, allow governments to respond quickly in urgent and specialized circumstances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-RSV-Protection)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nova Scotia is expanding respiratory syncytial virus (R-S-V) protection for infants and older residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Infants under eight months and adults 75-years and older will have access to free protection against R-S-V and can start booking vaccinations as of today through pharmacies and public health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first appointments will happen on Monday, with primary care providers offering the vaccine in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program for infants under eight months will be offered every year during the R-S-V season, which typically begins in late fall and lasts until spring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newfoundland and Labrador has agreed with Corner Brook Pulp and Paper to purchase excess green energy from the company’s Deer Lake Power assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The extension \u2014 until March 2026 \u2014 gives Hydro the flexibility to draw upon energy generated from the mill\u2019s existing power generation facilities when needed, particularly during winter months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In turn, the mill will continue efforts to identify new revenue sources from viable wood-based projects to unlock Newfoundland and Labrador\u2019s forest potential while further stabilizing the mill\u2019s sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newfoundland and Labrador is increasing access to child care in Labrador West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lil Snowflakes child care centre now has a total of 86 spaces after 55 new early learning and child care spaces were recently added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Five early learning and child care projects are in development in Labrador, which are expected to create 68 new affordable spaces operating at 10 dollars -a-day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It adds to the 11-thousand spaces already operating across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
