I have some themes set up from now until Christmas, but it will carry on after Christmas as well. So theater basics, characterization, basic theater history. In the winter term, I&#8217;m looking to do a reader&#8217;s theater project. Whether it&#8217;s a project or we do it in a workshop, I&#8217;m not sure yet. Basically, that&#8217;s what I&#8217;m looking to get into.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshops are available to kids between grades five and nine on a drop-in basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meg Cunningham: <\/strong>Why did you choose the age range that you did?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AS:<\/strong> I chose that age range because I want to go into education, and that&#8217;s kind of the age range I want to teach when I&#8217;ve done my undergrad. Also, when I was in high school I helped with the middle school drama club, so I&#8217;ve always just liked working with an age group.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MC:<\/strong> Do you anticipate any obstacles due to having to offer the workshops online, since a lot of theater is physical? Or are you prepared for that? What are your thoughts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AS:<\/strong> I do anticipate some obstacles. Mind you, I&#8217;m a second-year theatre major. I&#8217;ve never planned a program before, so I think that itself is going to be a challenge. I think that probably the biggest challenge will be keeping them occupied, I guess, because it&#8217;s online. I have a hard enough time focusing on my computer. Aside from that, I think if I&#8217;m prepared to have enough going on, I think it will go well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skater says that a professor is mentoring her through the process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are already nine kids signed up for the workshops, but Skater says her inbox is still open for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AS:<\/strong> I&#8217;m really excited. I hope they learn something. I&#8217;m sure they will, that will be different for every kid. I&#8217;m just excited to put something out in the community to\u00a0 let them do something, because I can&#8217;t imagine&#8230; I have some projects on the go, being in university, but from what I hear&#8230; like at the high school I went to there&#8217;s nothing happening.
