{"id":7129,"date":"2020-11-16T14:49:10","date_gmt":"2020-11-16T18:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/?p=7129"},"modified":"2020-11-16T16:55:11","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T20:55:11","slug":"6-new-cases-in-zone-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/6-new-cases-in-zone-1\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID Update: 6 new cases in Zone 1, new testing method for kids"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/yellow.png\" alt=\"A map of New Brunswick divided up into COVID-19 zones, which are all yellow.\" class=\"wp-image-7130\" width=\"581\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/yellow.png 349w, https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/yellow-300x203.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px\" \/><figcaption>New Brunswick&#8217;s cases of COVID-19 have doubled from 14 to 28 in three days (image: <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/8eeb9a2052d641c996dba5de8f25a8aa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NB COVID-19 Dashboard<\/a>). <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Public Health reports eight new cases in New Brunswick today, six of which are in Zone 1 (Moncton region).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cases are in the following age demographics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">one individual 19 and under, three people 20 to 29, one individual 30 to 39, and one individual 40 to 49.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zone 1 now has 13 active cases of COVID-19, most of which were reported in the past three days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other two cases from today are in Zone 3 (Fredericton region), and are two people between 20 to 29.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The province has 28 active cases, double the amount from three days ago. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All cases are under investigation and self-isolating.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;SWISH AND GARGLE&#8221; TEST AVAILABLE FOR KIDS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Children between ages four and 11 can be tested for COVID-19 with a \u201cswish and gargle\u201d method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Jennifer Russell says that while the nose swab is the recommended method for testing, the &#8220;swish and gargle method&#8221; is available for children who are unable to be swabbed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She recommends that parents and kids watch a video of the &#8220;swish and gargle&#8221; test at home before going to the testing site.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MULTIPLE POTENTIAL EXPOSURE LOCATIONS IN ZONE 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tandoori Zaika Cuisine and Bar (196 Robinson Street, Moncton) has been identified by Public Health as a location of potential exposure to COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who visited the establishment on November 8th between 1am and 2am should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Should any COVID-19 symptoms develop, self-isolate immediately and request a test online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Public Health recommends the online self-assessment, as it is the quickest way to get tested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are multiple other locations of possible exposure to COVID-19 in Moncton.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More information about those locations can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chmafm.com\/welcome\/covid-update-two-new-exposure-advisories-for-moncton\/\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Public Health reports eight new cases in New Brunswick today, six of which are in Zone 1 (Moncton region).&nbsp;
