R-C-M-P say they responded to the crash on Highway 2 on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers say the car, travelling east, is believed to have left the road and entered a ditch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Coroners-Inquest)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A coroner’s inquest into the death of a construction worker is set to get underway today in a Saint John courtroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matthew Brawn died in July 2024 in a workplace accident while putting up wind turbines in the Springdale area, east of Sussex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regional coroner Danny Mallet and a jury will publicly hear evidence from witnesses to determine the facts surrounding Brawn’s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Nova Scotia community gathered yesterday to mourn the loss of a 13-year-old boy who died after a dog attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drew Nickerson was transported from his home in Welshtown to hospital in Halifax last week, but died from his injuries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
An obituary page for Nickerson remembers the boy as kind and loving, with a particular interest in sports and the outdoors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parts of the Atlantic region are under a weather warning this morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The east coast and parts of central Newfoundland are under an orange warning from Environment Canada for extremely high winds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From Burgeo up to Twillingate, the weather agency is calling for winds up to 130 kilometres an hour this morning and continuing into the evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Correctional Services says an inmate at a Nova Scotia prison had to be taken to hospital after an assault last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agency says an inmate at Springhill Institution, a medium security facility, was assaulted and brought to a hospital for treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials say the assailant has been identified and a temporary lockdown was in place at the facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halifax’s Museum of Natural History will be closed to visitors for two weeks, beginning today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staff say the temporary exhibition space will be renovated, and it was necessary to close the whole space due to noise and construction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staff will still be coming in to attend to the animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
