Participants will learn essential safety rules throughout the six-week program, including: always waiting for permission before entering water, never swimming alone, and recognizing water hazards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program\u2019s adaptive teaching approach is expected to help swimmers build confidence and competence through skills such as floating, climbing along pool sides, safe deck walking, and comfort in deep water. The patient, individualized approach aims to address water anxiety, accommodate sensory needs, and celebrates each swimmer&#8217;s progress at their own pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The autism swim program is geared towards youngsters ages 5 to 16 and gets under way January 17.
