While the Riverview space is open-concept, the Sackville caf\u00e9 includes semi-private nooks built directly into the walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Riverview location is more an open space, it\u2019s all white and black. Here the main base color is black and the white is the secondary colour and it doesn\u2019t have any private space there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catipon wanted a more personal touch in Sackville and took on much of the creative work herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m not actually an artist, but I tried my best. Not all restaurant have these nooks that close\u2026 and I said, yes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Early response and word of mouth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catipon said she was nervous opening during Mount Allison\u2019s winter break but described the caf\u00e9\u2019s early weeks as steady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe had a great start because we have some elders coming\u2026 and I would say we have a pretty steady and good sales. Day by day it\u2019s growing because of the students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added that customers have been coming from outside Sackville, often discovering the caf\u00e9 through social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey were like, I saw you on Facebook, I saw you on Instagram, TikTok, maybe it\u2019s word of mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day by day growth &#8211; literally<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sadie Shelley, a fourth-year Mount Allison student, returned to Tambayan Caf\u00e9 less than 24 hours after her first visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI came literally yesterday with my friend. I saw this soft launch on Instagram. This is my second time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pedro Santana, also a fourth-year Mount Allison student, had been to the Riverview location before and welcomed the new caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a university town.
