New Brunswick R-C-M-P are seeking witnesses and surveillance footage as they investigate an alleged drive-by shooting in Dieppe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mounties say the shooting involved a residence on Denys Street on January 28th between 12-30 and 1-30 a-m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No one was injured in the incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Rent-Increases)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New data suggests the cost to rent a home in New Brunswick is increasing, but at a slower rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Figures from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation show rental prices increased 5.7 per cent between October 2024 and October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s the smallest increase since 2021, but still more than double the 2.1-per-cent inflation recorded over the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The governing Liberals campaigned on a promise to cap rental increases, and they have since introduced legislation limiting increases to three per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nova Scotia R-C-M-P say three youths are facing sexual assault charges after police received a complaint last month about a hockey team’s hazing ritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mounties in Colchester County say the allegations involve a hockey team in the Truro area, north of Halifax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators say a youth reported being assaulted during a private team gathering in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say they collected statements from multiple witnesses, which led to allegations that other offences occurred at different locations, involving additional victims and witnesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NL-Pharmacare)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier is accusing the federal government of creating unequal access to essential medications through a “fractured” approach to pharmacare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tony Wakeham wrote to Prime Minister Mark Carney this week, noting that Ottawa has signed drug coverage agreements with just three provinces and one territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The premier said Newfoundland and Labrador has unique health and demographic challenges, and he is eager to resume negotiations about a pharmacare plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A spokesperson for federal Health Minister Marjorie Michel says the department is taking a collaborative approach with all provinces and territories, including Newfoundland and Labrador. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newfoundland and Labrador’s wildlife service is advising people who encounter wild animals in distress to report the situation to the nearest forest management office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The directive comes after two men rescued a caribou struggling to keep itself afloat in some icy waters in a harbour in late January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Port au Choix resident Brendon Gould says he alerted wildlife services after receiving a call from his mother describing the animal in distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gould said the caribou was likely in the water for upwards of half an hour and was rescued by Gould’s father and a friend using a fishing vessel to clear a path to shore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A man accused in an incident in which a stolen pickup truck was rammed into a convenience store in P-E-I is facing more charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
King’s District R-C-M-P say the latest charges are connected to the man’s efforts to contact a person, in violation of a court-ordered release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigator say the accused was in the vehicle that smashed into R-J\u2019s Country Store on Baldwin Road on January 13th, causing significant damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christopher Wayne Rush was remanded into custody on January 27th and is facing nine charges in all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
