Heat warnings have been issued across the Maritimes as a heat wave settles across the region and over much of Ontario and Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The humid and hot weather is expected to continue until Saturday across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P-E-I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Temperatures are expected to rise above 28 Celsius and the humidity will make it feel like it’s 36 to 42.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The highest humidex values are expected across New Brunswick, where it will feel like 40 or higher through Friday across the province \u2014 except along the coast of the Bay of Fundy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police in Nova Scotia say one man is dead and another is missing after both were thrown from a boat northwest of Halifax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kings County District R-C-M-P say the men went overboard on Aylesford Lake on Wednesday when surface conditions of the water abruptly changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say search and rescue teams were looking for the 58-year-old man and a boater found the body of a dead 70-year-old man in the water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say there were three other men on the boat who were not injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NL-Labrador-Fire)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fires are banned across Labrador as crews battle flames that forced about 120 people to flee a cabin area earlier this week near the small mining town of Labrador City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands says more ground crews have been sent to help water bombers and helicopters tackle three wildfires in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the province has banned all fires, including sky lanterns and fireworks, in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The town of Labrador City remains in a state of emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Atl-Doctor-Trial)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A doctor accused of sexual assault has again delayed his plea in Moncton, New Brunswick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sanjeev Sirpal was scheduled to enter a plea today for allegedly assaulting a patient at the Sackville Memorial Hospital in February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sirpal’s defence lawyer says he hasn’t received enough disclosure from the Crown and doesn’t have enough information to move forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The case is set to return before the courts on July 9 when Sirpal is expected to enter a plea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He’s also facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient at Edmundston Regional Hospital last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-C-M-P are trying to identify a pair of men who allegedly drove a vehicle into a river in New Brunswick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Campbellton R-C-M-P say they received several reports about a video that appeared to show two people intentionally driving a car into the Charlo River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Images released by police show a person standing on top of a half-submerged vehicle and another person by the trunk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet Aveo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
