Police in Cape Breton are investigating the discovery of a body at the site of a previously unreported fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators say they were responding to a missing person report Friday evening when they discovered that a residence had been destroyed by fire on Beechmont Road in MacAdam\u2019s Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They later found a body on the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The identity of the deceased was not released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Rare-Orca-Sighting)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A marine conservation group in Nova Scotia has confirmed multiple sightings of a killer whale near the Canso Causeway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Marine Animal Response Society says such sightings are rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group says the solitary orca was spotted on the weekend and appeared to be in good shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As well, the non-profit group is asking boaters to give the whale plenty of room, adding that federal rules require vessels to stay at least 100 metres away from any whales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lottery ticket worth one-million dollars was sold in New Brunswick on the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Atlantic Lottery Corporation says the 6-4-9 ticket was sold in Carleton County on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nova Scotia’s public health authority is offering a immunization clinic this weekend for Black people in the Halifax area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nova Scotia Health says the clinic will take place during this year’s Association of Nigerians in Nova Scotia summer barbeque in Africville Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agency says the objective is to offer Black and African Nova Scotians a place to receive immunizations and ask questions in a setting that’s familiar and respectful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It will be offering free vaccines for shingles, chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new cultural centre in New Brunswick has received a total of 750-thousand dollars from the federal and provincial governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The money is for the new Place Du Drapeau acadien in Saint-Louis-de-Kent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along with a giant Acadian flag, the site will feature a monument, an Acadian history interpretation centre and an outdoor stage with a natural amphitheater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As well, walking trails will be created to connect the sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The federal government is handing 1.2-million dollars in loans to two companies in the Halifax area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency says a 745-thousand-dollar loan will be given to Dartmouth-based Site 20\/20 Incorporated, which makes automated traffic control equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company plans to hire another 50 to 60 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Atlantica Mechanical Contractors Incorporated will get 456-thousand dollars to modernize its sheet-metal fabrication facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
