New Brunswick’s only independent French-language daily newspaper is cutting back its print schedule because of changes to its printing operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
L’Acadie Nouvelle will publish printed editions only on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning this weekend, ending its run as the province’s only paper printing five days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Publisher Francis Sonier says the move follows the closure of Postmedia’s Moncton printing operation, forcing production to shift to Halifax and making daily print deadlines impractical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NB-Mining)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Canadian Copper Inc. is expanding its mining operations in northeastern New Brunswick after acquiring the former Caribou Mine through receivership proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company plans to use the Caribou mill to process copper, zinc and other minerals from its nearby Murray Brook property, while assuming responsibility for the site’s ongoing care and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The provincial government says construction is expected to begin in 2027, creating some 230 jobs before the project transitions to 115 permanent positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Energy-Retrofits)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Nova Scotia government is helping fund plans for a major energy retrofit at the Mariners Centre in Yarmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The province is providing 120-thousand dollars through the Sustainable Communities Challenge Fund to design upgrades aimed at improving the arena’s energy efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Environment and Climate Change Minister Timothy Halman says the project will focus on replacing heating and cooling systems with more efficient equipment, cutting energy costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(NS-Foster-Cuts)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organization representing Nova Scotia foster families says it will lose all provincial funding next year after supporting foster parents for 50 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Federation of Foster Families Nova Scotia says its provincial funding was cut by 52 per cent in this year’s budget, reducing support from 1.1-million dollars, with the remaining funding set to end next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Board chair Christopher Higgins says the cuts will make it harder to recruit foster parents and eliminate an independent voice that helps families navigate investigations and the child welfare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-C-M-P are investigating after thieves broke into an A-T-M at a pharmacy in Flower’s Cove over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say two masked suspects were captured on surveillance video entering the Pharmachoice vestibule, forcing open the machine and leaving on a side-by-side A-T-V with an undisclosed amount of cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators believe the theft happened between 11 p-m on Saturday and 2 a-m on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
