The province announced one more death related to COVID-19 today in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A person in their 80\u2019s who was a resident of Manoir Belle Vue in Edmundston died as a result of underlying complications, including COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That news came along with that of another 15 new cases in the province, with two being in Zone 1, the southeast region. Three cases were in the Saint John region, and 10 were in the Edmundston region. The majority of the Edmunston cases were in an adult residential facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are now 183 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, with 31 in Zone 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 1250 tests were conducted yesterday, with 294 of those in Zone 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FOURTH CASE OF UK VARIANT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fourth case of the UK variant has been detected in New Brunswick. The variant was discovered in a case previously reported in Zone 1 and related to international travel. The person involved has been self-isolating, and continues to do so, according to a government news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TWO POTENTIAL EXPOSURES ON FLIGHTS TO MONCTON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The province also issued two potential exposure advisories yesterday, for two flights into Moncton. Anyone on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Air Canada flight 8918 from Toronto to Moncton on January 27th, or <\/li>
  • Air Canada flight 8906 from Montreal to Moncton on January 28th, <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    should monitor for symptoms, and not hesitate to get tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ATLANTIC PROVINCES SEE ANOTHER OUTBREAK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Over in Newfoundland and Labrador, cases numbers are starting to spike, especially in the Eastern health region which includes St. John\u2019s. Newfoundland Public Health announced 30 new cases yesterday, with 14 of them in kids under 19. One high school in the St John\u2019s area has been closed, and the province has introduced some stricter public health measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    PEI, on the other hand, is relaxing some restrictions. On Tuesday, the province announced one new case in an Islander who was tested and is isolating outside of the Atlantic provinces. PEI has just four active cases of COVID-19. Despite easing of some restrictions, PEI is asking residents not to travel for March break or university reading weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nova Scotia reported just one new travel-related case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, and has nine remaining active cases. The province announced yesterday that in response to the spike in cases in Newfoundland, that it would burst the bubble with that province, and require 2 weeks of self-isolation for anyone travelling into Nova Scotia from Newfoundland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
