Our hosts/producers are a team that work together to keep our community informed throughout the broadcast day on CHMA. Our hosts research, produce audio and online content of relevant community events and diverse music. They work with the staff of CHMA to keep our community informed and entertained. Outreach and engagement to promote campus and community is fundamental. They demonstrate an eclectic and unbiased knowledge of music and culture, as well as a strong commitment to under-represented communities in Canada. Experience is not necessary and training will be provided.
Our hosts contribute to our daytime hosting, create local announcements, spots and other productions, update our website and post to socials, assist with programming and music rotations, and help plan and coordinate special events and remote broadcasts.
Community outreach, interest in independent and local culture, along with strong verbal and writing skills will be an asset.
Our hosts spots focus around key listening times:
– Monday-Friday 7:30am-8:30am
– Monday-Friday 12:00pm-1:00pm
– Monday-Friday 5:00pm-6:00pm
– Saturday 7:30am-12pm
Please note that timeliness and consistency are extremely important in this role. We work as a team to support each other and we have tools and techniques to help facilitate this, but it’s very important that you are able to commit fully to these timeslots. These are paid positions at $18.00 per hour.
