  • Nocturnal Variations: A Puppet Cabaret – Wednesday, February 4 to Saturday, February 7
    Nocturnal Variations: A Puppet Cabaret, by Ian McFarlane and student creators, invites audiences into an endless night of sleepless dreams where the performers are more than human and the cabaret feels surreal. Featuring original puppet acts, this design-focused devised theatre project explores the precarity of the current moment with humour, grace, and a touch of absurdity, and is recommended for audiences aged fourteen and up. Nocturnal Variations runs from Wednesday, February 4 to Saturday, February 7, starting at 7:30 p.m. each night in Motyer Fancy Theatre at Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts, with tickets priced at $5.
  • Bagtown’s Winter Trivia Night – Wednesday, February 4
    Bagtown kicks off its winter trivia series on Wednesday, January 28, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Marcie and Jenna hosting and a themed round on “2025”. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., and the door cover is a minimum donation of $2.50, which includes one drink ticket. Alcoholic options are $7.50, and non-alcoholic options are $5. Throughout the winter, teams will play for Bagtown pints, and there will be an attendance draw at the end of the series.
  • Winterfest 2026 – Thursday, February 5 to Sunday, February 8
    Tantramar’s Winterfest 2026 runs from Thursday, February 5 to Sunday, February 8, with favourite events such as Family Day at Beech Hill Park, the Town versus Gown charity hockey game, and a quick, intense fireworks show.   • Sackville Film Society – Bob Trevino Likes It – Thursday, February 5
    The Sackville Film Society presents Bob Trevino Likes It at the Amherst Theatre on Thursday, February 5 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Directed by Tracie Laymon, the film follows Lily Trevino, who unexpectedly befriends an online stranger who shares her self-centred father’s name; his support may change her life. Tickets are available at the box office, with six pack punch cards for $66 and single admissions for $12.
  • Music and Munchies – Friday, February 6
    Open Sky Co op hosts Music and Munchies on Friday, February 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in their warm greenhouse at 12 Folkins Drive in Sackville. The gathering features after-work live music, mocktails, and snacks to support one another through the winter and strengthen community connections. The evening features music by Blue Horse, Michelle Helen Tardiff, Harris McSheffery, and possibly a special guest, giving people a chance to enjoy some tunes and friendly company before heading home for supper.
  • Canning Workshop – Saturday, February 7
    EOS Eco-Energy is partnering with community member Emilie McBride to offer a free canning workshop at Open Sky Co operative, 12 Folkins Drive in Sackville, on Saturday, February 7 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Participants will gain hands on experience with hot water bath canning as they make vegetable pickles and a fruit jam, while learning tips, tricks, and safety precautions for preserving food at home.   • A Collection of Music – Saturday, February 7
    A Collection of Music, a fundraiser concert for Autism Nova Scotia Cumberland County, takes place on Saturday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Brunton Auditorium at 134 Main Street in Sackville. The concert brings together a variety of musical performances to raise funds in support of local autism programs, with entry by donation at the door.
  • Winterfest Dorchester Guided Trail Walk – Sunday, February 8
    As part of Winterfest activities, the Moving Forward Trails Committee is hosting a guided winter trail walk in Dorchester on Sunday, February 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The walk is family friendly and will be followed by a bonfire with marshmallows, hot dogs, and hot chocolate. Participants are invited to meet at 8 Station Road in Dorchester at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome.
  • Make Something Sunday: Valentine GIF Jam – Sunday, February 8
    Make Something Sunday returns with a Valentine GIF Jam at the Owens Art Gallery on Sunday, February 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The monthly program invites kids ages 12 and under and their grown-ups to explore new ways to make art through relaxed, hands-on workshops. This session focuses on creating simple looping animations called GIFs, using colourful cards and scissors at animation stations to bring Valentine’s Day ideas to life. No booking is required, and the program is free.
  • Rueda de Casino – Monday, February 9
    Rueda de Casino is a fun social Cuban circle dance with upbeat music and lots of laughter, running Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Sackville Curling Club. No partner or prior dance experience is required, and the group restarts from the beginning when new dancers join, making it a good time for newcomers to try it. The atmosphere is friendly and energetic with no pressure to be good at dancing, and a mix of skill levels helps people learn quickly. The cost is typically about $5–$6 per night, based on attendance, paid in blocks to cover rental costs.
  • Regular Council Meeting – Tuesday, February 10
    The Regular Monthly Council Meeting takes place on Tuesday, February 10, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Municipal Office Council Chambers at 31C Main Street. These public meetings are where Council conducts its business, and members of the public may request to make a five-minute presentation by submitting a written request to the Clerk’s Office at least seven days in advance, subject to agenda availability. People who have not registered in advance may still register with the Clerk’s Office before the agenda is approved for a two-minute presentation.
