The Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University is accepting applications to its 2027 artist-in-residency program.

The annual, non-recurring residency supports the research, development and creation of a project proposed by a successful professional artist. Performance-based artists are invited to apply.

The selected artist will develop a project at the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts on campus during the residency, which will run from January to June. In developing their project, the artist-in-residence will coordinate with the head of the school of fine arts to engage students, faculty and the wider university community. They will also be appointed in the School of Fine Arts for the residency and have access to suitable office space, studio facilities and administrative support.

The residency also offers a $32,000 salary over its duration, a student internship account of $2,000 to employ student assistants, and a research, travel and entertainment account of $1,100 for expenses.

Other duties of the artist-in-residence include presenting public talks, exhibitions or other events and participating in departmental talks or activities during the winter semester, while being available to meet with students individually or as a class.

Consideration of applications will begin on April 30 and continue until an artist is selected.
