Wanted Nova Scotia man arrested in Wood Point

A Nova Scotia man wanted on a province-wide warrant for sexual assault and assault of a police officer, among many other charges, has been arrested.

Jerrad Wade Patriquin, 38, of Westchester, was arrested in Wood Point on Tuesday – thanks to the help of several local residents, according to CTV News.

Patriquin is facing a number of charges, including: assault by choking, suffocating or strangling (two counts); sexual assault; criminal harassment; failing to comply with probation (three counts); possession of property obtained by crime; resisting or obstructing a peace officer; assault of a police officer; and failure to comply with release order (seven counts)

He appeared in Amherst Provincial Court on Wednesday, August 5. He remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on August 12.

CTV reported residents reported seeing Patriquin near their home Tuesday morning and called 911. They had seen reports on social media over the weekend that a man matching Patriquin’s description was at large in the area.

Several other local residents helped police locate Patriquin in their vehicles along the marsh and he was arrested soon after.
