New Brunswick reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total active case count to 327.
Since Tuesday, there have been 24 recoveries.
The Moncton region, Zone 1, announced 2 new cases, a person aged 20-29; and another person aged 40-49.
Zone 1 remains in the red phase of COVID-19 restrictions.
Zone 2 has just one new case, but one person aged 70-79 passed away as a result of underlying complications including COVID-19.
The person was a resident of Lily Court of Parkland Saint John’s Tucker Hall.
Zone 3, the Fredericton region, has five new cases of COVID-19.
And Zone 4, which remains under lockdown, announced six cases and one death as a result of COVID-19.
The person was between the age of 70 to 79 years old.
New Brunswick has lost 16 people to COVID-19 throughout the course of the pandemic.
Public Health announced that a traveller may have been infectious on an Air Canada flight.
Air Canada Flight 8906, from Monctreal to Moncton departing at 9:19 p.m. on January 14 has been identified as a potential area of exposure to the virus.
Anyone who was on that flight should self-monitor for symptoms, and if any symptoms arise they need to get tested for COVID-19 immediately.
Nova Scotia’s numbers stay low, with 4 new cases today and 12 active in the province.
PEI has no new cases to announce, but Newfoundland and Labrador has 2 new cases, with one person in the hospital.
Our neighbouring province Quebec announced 1,328 new cases on Wednesday and 53 more people died due to COVID-19.
