On today’s show as Liberal and Conservative MPs in the House of Commons prepare to pass third and final reading of the Building Canada Act this week, a local group of climate activists and a Mount Allison University politics professor are both saying the Act is in danger of sidestepping environmental rules and regulations that have been developed in Canada over generations.  We hear from Logan Atkinson of Seniors for Climate Action Now Tantramar and Mount Allison politics professor Dr. Mario Levesque about the issues they see with Bill C-5, which includes the Building Canada Act.

  • Tantramar council is scheduled to meet Monday at 3pm for their monthly committee of the whole discussion meeting.
  • Nick Saucier bought the vacant lot at 5 Bridge Street in downtown Sackville on May 30 for $79,000, but the new owner says he is still not ready to share plans for the site.
  • The seven story, 96-unit apartment building that’s under construction at the corner of York Street and Ford Lane in downtown Sacvkille will cost over $21.3 million dollars to build, according to a permit filed with Plan 360.
