A Mount Allison University commerce student has taken top spot at a national startup competition.
Mary Goudy, originally from Ilderton, Ontario, won first place in the undergraduate category at the BMO Apex Startup Challenge, hosted by the University of New Brunswick. She received an $8,500 award for her early-stage venture, Seline.
Seline is a proposed reproductive health clinic concept focused on improving how hormonal contraception is prescribed. Goudy says the idea aims to replace what she calls a “trial and error” approach with longer consultations, diagnostics, and more personalized care.
In addition to the top undergraduate prize, Goudy also received a secondary Venture Catalyst award. She plans to continue developing the concept after graduation while exploring opportunities in the growing femtech sector.
