Greenslades, a historic 1877 home on Charles Street in Sackville, is gearing up for a full season of concerts this fall. The house doubles as both an Airbnb and performance space, and owner Andrew Ennals says the goal is simple: “to give a space for people to perform, people to stay, and to just bring people together.” Ennals originally bought the house while living in Toronto with plans to run it as an Airbnb, but after moving back during the pandemic, he began opening the space to musicians. “We need to have some spaces that performers can use,” he says. This season includes shows with Sophie Noel and Keith Hallett, Brooks and Bowskill, Blackwood, and the Elm City String Quartet. Ennals says Sackville’s audiences make it a special stop for touring artists: “People in Sackville show up for the music and show up for the musicians… they’ve really shown up.”
