- Symphonic Band Chamber Concert – Wednesday, February 11
Professor James Kalyn and the Mount Allison Symphonic Band present their annual chamber music concert on Wednesday, February 11, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. in Brunton Auditorium at the MYB Conservatory of Music, 134 Main Street in Sackville. The concert will include works for large mixed ensemble, brass and percussion, and sax ensemble, along with premieres of two new compositions by Professor Kalyn. Admission is free and all are invited, with donations at the door in support of student scholarships and awards.

- Bagtown’s Winter Trivia Night – Wednesday, February 11
Bagtown continue winter trivia series on Wednesday, January 28, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Marcie and Jenna hosting and a themed round on “2025”. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., and the door cover is a minimum donation of $2.50, which includes one drink ticket. Alcoholic options are $7.50, and non-alcoholic options are $5. Throughout the winter, teams will play for Bagtown pints, and there will be an attendance draw at the end of the series.

- Sackville Film Society – Peter Hujar’s Day – Thursday, February 12
The Sackville Film Society screens Peter Hujar’s Day, directed by Ira Sachs, on Thursday, February 12 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Amherst Theatre. The film follows a 1974 conversation between photographer Peter Hujar and Linda Rosenkrantz that opens a window onto New York’s downtown art world and the inner life of an artist. Tickets are available at the box office, with six-pack punch cards for $66 and single admissions for $12.

- Tantramar Heritage Trust: Sand Dance – Saturday, February 14
The Tantramar Heritage Trust, in partnership with the Municipality of Tantramar, presents a screening of the 1979 film Sand Dance and a talk by filmmaker Janet Crawford on Saturday, February 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Tantramar Town Hall in Sackville. In 1979, three women artists spent many hours exploring the moulding shop of the Enterprise Foundry, and from that experience, Sackville native Janet Crawford created Sand Dance, a 9-minute black and white Super 8 silent film that explores the atmosphere of the workplace and honours the skill and hard work of the men in the moulding shop. The presentation will be followed by a reception catered by Amy Trenholm, admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

- Ducky’s Open Mic Night – Saturday, February 14
Ducky’s Open Mic Night runs every other Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the next edition on Saturday, February 14. The pub opens its stage to acoustic performers of all kinds, including musicians, poets, comedians, and anyone with something creative to share. Everyone is welcome to play, perform, cheer on friends, or simply relax with a pint of craft beer while Ducky’s celebrates local talent and good energy. Acoustic acts only; performers are invited to bring their best tunes, words, and laughs while Ducky’s provides the mic.

- The Sweetest Little Thing – Saturday, February 14
The Owens Art Gallery and Struts Gallery present The Sweetest Little Thing, their 27th annual fundraising art auction, on Saturday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the Owens Art Gallery. Every dollar raised goes directly to programming at both galleries. At the centre of the event is a silent auction featuring artworks donated by local, regional, and national artists with close ties to the galleries and the community. Guests are invited to wear their fanciest outfits, visit the Instant Lovin Photo Booth, and enjoy dancing, karaoke, a scavenger hunt, a raffle for a cake from Cranewood on Main, lots of sweet treats, and a few surprises. Online bidding opens Friday, February 6, at 9:00 a.m. on sweetestlittlething.ca and runs until February 14.

Trueman Blueberry Farms is hosting a vendor market on Sunday, February 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Train Station building. The market will feature more than twenty vendors in one place, offering local handmade goods, unique gifts, tasty treats, and more.

Photographer Venessa Web is offering Family Day photo sessions at Sackville Waterfowl Park on Sunday, February 15, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sessions are booked in 20-minute slots, with about 15 minutes of photos, and families receive a minimum of 5 edited images for $45. Dorchester Consolidated School will host a Family Day Touch a Truck and Family Fun Fair on Monday, February 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Families are invited to come celebrate with Dorchester Fire and Rescue and local Beavers and Cubs. The event includes a free barbecue, campfire, skating, world famous hot chocolate, and a chance for kids to explore emergency vehicles as part of the Touch a Truck fun.

Rueda de Casino is a fun social Cuban circle dance with upbeat music and lots of laughter, running Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Sackville Curling Club, including Monday, February 16. No partner or prior experience is required, and the group restarts from the beginning when new dancers join, making this a good time to try it. The atmosphere is friendly and energetic with no pressure to be good at dancing, and a mix of skill levels helps newcomers learn quickly. The cost is typically $5-6 per night, paid in blocks to cover rental costs.

Winter Ultimate Frisbee is back at Church by the Lake, with indoor games on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17.
