A local theatre festival focused on new and original productions is getting underway this weekend in Sackville.
The MarshLight New Works Festival, presented by Marshlight Theatre Company, runs from March 20 to 29 at the company’s black-box theatre on Fairfield Road. The event brings together local and emerging artists to present new plays and works still in development.
The festival includes a range of performances, from staged readings to more fully-developed productions, including work by youth performers and community theatre groups. The format allows playwrights and directors to test ideas, refine scripts, and see how their work connects with an audience.
