Tantramar residents have until the end of March to register their dogs before late fees take effect.

Municipal staff shared the reminder during a recent committee of the whole meeting, noting that 2026 dog tags are currently available at the Tantramar municipal office. The deadline to register is March 31.

After that date, a $20 late fee will be added to the cost of registration.

Staff also reminded council that proof of a valid rabies vaccination is required to complete the process.

During the meeting, financial services staff told council the tags are still available, but the deadline is approaching.

According to Tantramar, dog tags are required for all dogs living within the municipality and help ensure pets can be identified and returned to their owners if lost.

Residents can register their dogs by visiting the Tantramar municipal office before the deadline.
