New infographic report details operating budget, capital projects and utility services across the municipality
Tantramar council has released its 2026 budget report in a simplified, infographic-style format designed to make municipal finances easier to understand.
Instead of dense financial documents, the report uses visuals, charts and plain-language explanations to break down how money is collected and spent across the municipality.
The total general operating budget sits at just over $18 million, with most revenue coming from property taxes.
Key sections highlight where funds go, including public works, protective services and community programs, along with major infrastructure investments presented in a more accessible, visual format.
The report also outlines water and sewer rates for Sackville and Dorchester residents, using simplified tables and comparisons.
The municipality says the goal is to improve transparency and help residents better understand how local dollars are managed while balancing rising costs and ongoing infrastructure needs.
