More than three dozen musical acts will hit the stage this weekend for the 21st edition of Sappyfest.
The festival, which features a full program of music, art, poetry, puppets, performance and everything in between, gets under way this Friday, July 31 and runs until Sunday, August 2.
The line-up includes an eclectic mix of musicians – featuring Bibi Club, Bon Enfant, Eliza Niemi, Boyhood, Status/Non-status, Jennifer Castle, Ribbon Skirt, PISS, Sackville’s own Steve Haley, and so much more.
Located mainly on Bridge Street in the centre of downtown Sackville, the festival grounds include a performance tent, a beer garden, a merchandise market, vendor grounds, and an open space with picnic tables.
Many off-site venues are also used during the festival, including Struts Gallery, the Royal Canadian Legion, Ducky’s Pub, and the Sackville United Church, among others. A zine fair will take place on Saturday at the Legion and the inaugural Sappyfest sack race will be held on Saturday morning at the Chester Cole Memorial ball field.
