‘Grandma’ returns for annual Christmas dinner theatre in Sackville, Amherst

Sackville actor and musician Heather MacIntyre will return as Grandma in Stage East’s all-new show called Grandma’s Crazy Christmas Carol.

The show is expected to bring with it lots of laughs as well as Christmas tunes and a number of classic hits from the 1950s to today. There will also be a roast turkey dinner, with dessert and tea or coffee.

In this latest rendition of the Grandma series, Grandma has a near-death experience which leads to a trip through her life guided by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Dinner theatre regulars Paul Brisk, Morgan Grant, James Hand and Carley Varner-Joudrey all return as characters from Grandma’s life who guests are sure to recognize. Written and directed by Charlie Rhindress, Jennie Del Motte will serve as the musical director.

The dates are as follows: Amherst – Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27, Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5, and Thursday, Dec. 17 to Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Community Credit Union Business Innovation Centre; and in Sackville at the Legion from Wednesday, Dec. 9 to Saturday, Dec. 12.

Tickets went on sale October 27. They will be available at Bargain Bennies in Amherst (with cash or cheque), by phone at (902) 614-2666 or online at stageeast.ca.
