Learn to Curl program offers introductory course for new curlers in Sackville

Curling season is almost here and the Sackville Curling Club is encouraging residents who have always wanted to try out the sport to come join in on the fun.

The club will host a six-week Learn to Curl program this fall, providing adults who are interested in curling an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game in a safe and welcoming environment.

No experience is required for this introductory course, which will happen over six sessions starting Nov. 1. Learn to Curl is also open to those who want to learn stick curling. All equipment is provided, except participants will need a pair of clean running shoes to wear on the ice. Helmets are not provided but are strongly encouraged.

Online registration for the Learn to Curl program is now open at sackvillecurlingclub.com. Or in-person registration is happening this Thursday, Oct. 8 from 6-8 pm for those who would like more information. The cost is $65 plus tax; and for those who choose to join the club when the program is completed, the $65 will be deducted from the first-year member fee for the 2026-2027 curling season.

The Sackville Curling Club is also hosting an open house on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 3-5 pm for those who wish to try curling out before committing to the Learn to Curl program and for younger curlers who are considering joining Little Rocks for the coming season.
