Ducky’s Bar is bringing back Trivia Night every other Thursday, kicking off on January 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Sackville, with host and co-owner Luc Poirier leading the questions. The Sackville Film Society is screening Sentimental Value, directed by Joachim Trier, at the Amherst Theatre on Thursday, January 15 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., following sisters Nora and Agnes as they reunite with their estranged father Gustav, a once-renowned director, after he offers Nora a role in his planned comeback film, only for her to discover the part has been given to a young Hollywood star. The screening is part of the Society’s winter/spring season of 16 films, with full memberships available for the series, six-pack punch cards, and single tickets sold at the box office.

- Dorchester Climate Risk Discussion – Friday, January 16
EOS Eco-Energy is inviting residents to a climate risk discussion and community mapping session at the Dorchester Community Veterans Hall, 4955 Main Street in Dorchester, on Friday, January 16 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will share experiences of extreme weather and other climate-related changes and help map local risks, with the insights gathered feeding into Tantramar’s Climate Change Adaptation Plan. Soprano Christina Haldane and guitarist Adam Cicchillitti present By the Marshes of Tantramar, an evening of new music featuring premiere performances of works by Atlantic Canadian composers Jason Noble, Amy Brandon, and Jérôme Blais, on Friday, January 16, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Brunton Auditorium at the MYB Conservatory of Music, 134 Main Street, Sackville. Ducky’s is launching a new Open Mic Night every other Saturday, starting January 17 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ducky’s Pub, inviting acoustic performers of all kinds, musicians, poets, comedians, and more to take the stage. Audience members can come to perform, cheer on friends, or simply relax with a pint of their favourite craft brew as Ducky’s celebrates talent from Tantramar and beyond, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and plenty of good vibes.

- Make Something Sunday: Pasta Maker Printshop – Sunday, January 18
Something Sunday is a monthly program that introduces kids twelve and under and their grown-ups to new materials and ways of making art through informal, hands-on workshops. This month, families are invited to the Owens Art Gallery at 61 York Street in Sackville from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to take part in a printmaking session, where everyone can cut bold foam shapes to create their own printing plates, ink them, and run them through pasta maker presses to make prints on custom collaged paper. No booking is required, and the program is offered free of charge.
