Residents can now tell the province what they think of the ongoing review of natural gas in New Brunswick thanks to a new online survey.
The New Brunswick government announced the survey yesterday, Oct. 5, and said in a release it would use the results to “inform the government’s review of whether the conditions associated with the province’s moratorium on natural gas development reflect today’s science, technology, market and regulatory best practices.”
The review is focused on five areas: First Nations rights, interests and priorities; the size and nature of the natural gas resources in New Brunswick; the science, technology and environmental impacts; potential economic benefits; and public support.
The survey is open until Friday, Oct. 23 through the government’s natural gas public consultation webpage. Questions and written submissions can be emailed to naturalgas-gaznaturel@gnb.ca
