Tantramar MLA Megan Mitton is officially the only candidate for leadership of the New Brunswick Green Party.
Mitton announced her intent to run early last month, and though no other names came forward, the party confirmed there had been one other candidate.
On Monday, the party confirmed Mitton is the only registered contestant in the race.
She will still need to be ratified at the party’s leadership convention in Fredericton on Dec. 5.
If ratified, Mitton will succeed leader David Coon, who announced in June that he would be stepping down after heading the party since 2012.
